About Jamis

Jamis Schriner is an entrepreneur and business analyst currently pursuing a double major in Accounting and Economics at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. Throughout his career, he has focused on helping organizations make better decisions through financial analysis, process improvement, and practical problem-solving.

His passion for expanding economic opportunity grew while living and working in El Salvador, where he saw firsthand the challenges many families face. Nearly 40% of households are led by single mothers, many of whom are forced to choose between earning an income and being present to raise their children. For many, the available jobs meant long hours away from home, leaving children unattended or requiring mothers to work in environments that put their own health and well-being at risk.

Those experiences shaped Jamis's belief that business can be a powerful force for good when it creates opportunities that meet people where they are. He is passionate about building systems that provide flexible, accessible pathways to income for those most vulnerable to poverty while preserving family stability and personal dignity.

As a Junior Accounting Clerk at the Polynesian Cultural Center, Jamis manages expense tracking and vendor analysis across multiple departments, helping identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency. He has also led projects involving process automation, operational analysis, and strategic cost management for organizations seeking sustainable growth.

Through this venture, Jamis hopes to help create a marketplace that connects service providers and customers while expanding economic opportunities for hardworking individuals and families. He believes that entrepreneurship can open doors for people seeking a way out of poverty and is excited to help build solutions that create lasting impact in the Philippines and beyond.about Jamis.
